Yvonne Crotty

Yvonne has a B.Rel.Sc from Mater Dei Institute of Education and an M.Sc in Education and Training Management (eLearning) from Dublin City University. She is currently working on her PhD.

Yvonne is a Lecturer in the School of Education Studies and coordinates the e-Learning strand of the M.Sc. in Education and Training Management programme. She has also developed e-Learning modules for the M.Sc. in Guidance and Counselling and the Graduate Diploma in Education programmes.

Yvonne coordinates the Teaching Methodologies module on the undergraduate Science education programme and is involved in Teaching practice supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is particularly interested in promoting creativity and visual literacy in higher education and produces her own podcasts and videos for students.

She has presented her research at National and International conferences and was a recipient of a DCU Learning Innovation Award in 2007 & 2010 and was nominated for the President's Award for Teaching and Learning Excellence in 2009 and 2010.

Yvonne was a finalist in the Jennifer Burke Award 2009 jenniferburkeaward.ie/finalists2009

She has carried out research and developed learning resources for use in the post primary school curriculum e.g. Cancer Awareness Programme for use in SPHE Senior Cycle curriculum.


She was recently recipient of the Presidents's award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Award announcement
